Razer flashes upcoming BlackWidow gaming keyboard at Gamescom this year


Here’s an opportunity for all gaming enthusiasts to stay hooked onto their consoles for a long time. Razer has unveiled the BlackWidow keyboard to offer comfortable and enhanced gaming experience. Flaunting a response time of 1ms, the gadget is attributed with a 1000Hz Ultrapolling capability.

The device boasts of mechanical keys with 50g actuation force as well as keys offering on-the-fly macro recording. Users can lock the Windows keys and play in the gaming mode through this offering. Additionally, the unit features ten customizable software profiles as well as on-the-fly switching.

“The Razer BlackWidow is the world’s first mechanical keyboard that has been engineered from ground up for gaming,” explained Robert Krakoff, president, Razer.“Imagine every single key on the keyboard with the precision of a mouse click no more pressing of keys without knowing for certain if they have been actuated. Precision clicking coupled with an optimized lighter key actuation force, this changes the way gamers will play from now on.”

Apart from the additional five macro keys, the BlackWidow is fitted with multimedia controls too. It is embedded with a braided cable and connects to the PC through a USB port. The peripheral is compatible with the Windows XP, Vista and 7 OS. Users are offered 35MB of hard disk capacity as well.

With dimensions amounting to about 475mm x 17mm1 x 30mm, the BlackWidow gaming keyboard will be available through Razer’s official portal from September this year. It can be purchased for $79.99
