Intel has launched its new convertible Classmate PC with a flexible reference design that converts it from a clamshell to a tablet mode. The Classmate PC is based on the Intel architecture and powered by the Intel Atom processor.
Sporting a 180 degree swivel screen, 1.3MP rotational camera, touch-pad, and water-resistant keyboard, it enables a flexible classroom interaction. Being small and light, the Classmate PC is highly portable.
Intel makes this machine backpack-friendly, offering resistance to bumps and accidental drops. It meets the needs of educators and administrators to address cost and durability which has supposedly been the concern of teachers with curriculum and classroom management.
While in tablet mode, it lets a child write by resting the palm on the screen, thanks to the palm rejection feature. Moreover, the Classmate PCs are a part of the Intel Learning Series which is claimed to be a cost-effective, end-to-end solution developed and deployed for transforming education for the modern era.
