Pakistani Movie ”BOL” Delay The Release Date In Pakistan And India

Acclaimed Pakistani director Shoaib Mansoor'smuch-awaited social drama film Bol which was initially confirmed for 20 May release in India and the rest of the world, is likely to be delayed due to multiple releases in the coming weeks. The business, naturally, hit an all-time low due to multiple releases so the producers (Eros) are planning to re-schedule the release date of Bol.


"There's talk that Eros is also planning to shift BOL to another date," says Indian film trade analyst, Taran Adarsh.

Possibilities are that the Atif Aslam starer film will also be delayed here in Pakistan as Geo Filmshaven't started promoting the film in full swing and only 17 days are left until 20th May. Geo is playing a poor part in promoting Bol because till now it should have started promoting it if they wanted it to release on 20th May. For instance, Khuda Kay Liye promos went on air before 2 months of its release, starting with the soundtrack. Whereas, Geo and TIPS (India) haven't even started promoting the music of Bol. We hope Bol sees daylight soon!

A new mass-market service called E la Carte is now testing their tablet menu at twenty different restaurants around Boston and San Francisco. The tablets are specially rubber-coated, and won't die out on you when you're ordering because they've got day-long battery life. Sure, iPad menus have been done before! But these E la Carte tablets could be a better alternative for restaurant owners; they're cheaper, more durable, and designed specifically for this purpose.

And if you're just beginning to doubt how ubiquitous these tablet menus might turn out to be, let this little tidbit change your mind: The company behind the service is expected to announce a deal with a major national chain soon—word is, it'll be Applebee's.

Now, what can you do with these digital menus exactly? A lot! You'll be able to customize and place your orders on it, split the check, or play games while you wait for your food. Quad-core Tegra 3 tablet being planned by ASUS

The Eee Pad Transformer may be wowing tablet lovers with its unbeatable price-to-features ratio today, but ASUS looks to have its sights set on even mightier devices for the future. DigTimes reports that the Taiwanese company is hard at work on a Tegra 3 tablet -- built around the spectacular Kal-El quad-core SOC that we saw demonstrated at MWC 2011 -- as well as another one running an Intel CPU.

As far as the Intel slate is concerned, we're probably looking at the tablet-centric 1.5GHz Atom Z670, which promises 1080p playback and great battery life. You'll forgive us if we reserve our excitement for the Tegra 3-powered tablet, however, which should be able to churn through quite a few more pixels than regular old 1080p. There's no indication on when ASUS intends to deliver it, but NVIDIA's roadmap for devices with the quad-core chip expects to start appearing in August. Gmail now stores up to 25,000 contacts for the insanely popular

Are you quietly proud of the girth of your social circle? Do you think having 146 Facebook buddies is impressive? Snap out of it, saddo. Some Gmail users have thousands upon thousands of contacts in their list -- so many, in fact, that they've been begging Google to increase its 10,000 limit.
The Big G has now obliged these jabbering fiends, yanking the limit up to 25,000 and also boosting available cloud storage to 128KB per contact instead of 32KB. We imagine this could be of some help to business users perhaps, or those nice strangers who send out stock tips. But for the rest of us, the gesture is about as inconsequential as the professionally good-looking.

New iMacs to be Released on Tuesday, May 3rd?

Apple as early as next week will deliver a much-needed refresh to its iMac line of all-in-one desktops, adopting Intel's newest family of Core processors and the latest in personal computing I/O technology, AppleInsider has learned.

More specifically, people familiar with the matter say Apple plans to introduce the new models on Tuesday, May 3, swapping out the systems' first-gen Core i processors and miniDisplay ports for second-generation Core i chips and the company's new high-speed Thunderbolt port. However, rumors that 2011 would see changes to the iMacs' display panel size (1, 2) and the inclusion of 6000-series AMD Radeon HD chips, could not be confirmed with any degree of certainty.

In the days leading up to major product launches, Apple routinely makes certain requests of its various operating segments to assure the rollout goes as smoothly as possible. This week saw several of those measures put into place, according to those same people, who've continually provided accurate information when it comes the Mac maker's future plans.

In addition, people familiar with the Cupertino-based company's retail operations confirmed to AppleInsider that a "visual night" is similarly slated for the early morning hours of May 3rd. "So it is highly likely that whatever new product that is going to be refreshed or introduced will be done on [that day]," one of those people said.

These visual nights see several Apple retail employees in each location work throughout the evening and early a.m. hours, making significant modifications to the product layouts on the showroom floors, often removing previous generation products in favor of newly introduced models.

For Apple, next week's launch will mark the first time the company has refreshed its flagship desktop line in over 9 months. It also comes at a crucial time for the iMac -- and Mac desktops in general -- which are rapidly approaching an all-time low when it comes to their share of the Mac's product mix.

As Apple slowly transitions into a full-fledge mobile company, desktops have seen their share of Mac shipments slip into a slow but inevitable decline, falling from more than 50% of the company's Mac product shipments in the first quarter of 2006 to just 26% of the total units Mac units shipped during the second fiscal quarter of 2011 (see graph below).

As consumers increasingly grow accustomed to mobile computers, Apple faces a tall order in attempting to keep the desktop relevant in today's climate. As such, the company is said to be exploring designs that could shed as much as 50% off the footprint of future models by 2012, mirroring a pattern that's become evident in the big-screen TV market.

Thunderbolt iMacs are just the first of several Mac product refreshes Apple has planned for the months leading into and through this year's educational buying season. Versions of the company's hot-selling MacBook Airs are next to receive the Thunderbolt while adopting Intel's latest low-voltage Core i chips.

Those notebooks, which are slated to go into production near the tail end of May, should hit the market sometime in June.

Now you can rent movies through Facebook, kicks off with The Dark Knight

I don’ t know what you’ll find more interesting in this news, but Facebook has started rolling out movie rental via Facebook.com or the fact that the guinea pig for this experiment is again Warner Bros.’ The Dark Knight. In case you forgot, The Dark Knight was recently turned into an iPad and iPhone app with special features here and there plus the right to rent the movie for a specific time. It was an experimental movie distribution strategy, similar to what Facebook and Warner Bros. are doing right now.

So, with the Facebook movie rental, you can now spend your Facebook credits. Yes, the ones you use for in-app purchases on Facebook games. Under the rental gig, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie over and over again, on Facebook.com. The Dark Knight can be rented for $3 which is quite cheap. Although, don’t count to much on getting the movie in HD format because it will most likely not be the case especially if you consider the cheap rental price.

Cliche as it may be, the Mario universe and mecha are my two favorite aspects of Japan nerd culture. Furthermore, I always liked Luigi more than Mario. And seeing this Luigi mechamakes me wish it was in a game.

Couldn't there have been a Mecha Luigi appearance in Super Mario Sunshine when Mecha Bowser needed to be destroyed? He could have awesome powers. Obviously, it would shoot flames from his hands. Its moustache would be some sort of ballistic weapon. And when you gazed into its eyes, you would feel the decades of pain inflicted by Mario envy. Yeah, it would be awesome. Pakistani scholar completes double doctorates from France in Record Time

SLAMABAD: Higher Education Commision (HEC) scholar Kashif Mehmood has made the nation proud by successfully completing two PhD degrees from France within a period of four years.

He is among those few fortunate researchers in the world who have secured double doctorates in two different disciplines (Business Administration and Computer Science) from two leading universities, says a press release issued here.

Dr. Kashif Mehmood completed four postgraduate degrees (PhD in Computer Science, PhD in Business Administration, M.Phil in Business Administration, MS in Computer Science) within the last five years.

He was awarded HEC scholarship under Overseas Scholarship Scheme for PhD in Selected Fields (Phase-1) in 2004.

Based on his education and experience, he secured admission in MS programme at the University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) that is ranked among the best universities in the world.

During his research internship, Dr. Kashif impressed his supervisor with his technical, analytical and managerial skills for which he was offered a PhD thesis in Computer Science.

After starting PhD in Computer Science, Dr. Kashif applied for an M.Phil (Business Administration) in a leading French business school, ESSEC Business School. Getting into ESSEC was a difficult task and securing full fees waiver (worth 10,000 Euros/Year) was almost impossible.

Lawsuit Filed Against AT&T For Cheating Customers on Data

A new lawsuit against AT&T alleges that the company is systematically overcharging users on data by inflating the amount they download and adding 'phantom traffic'.

According to ComputerWorld the complaint was filed by Patrick Hendricks in California federal court and claims that a "significant portion" of AT&T's $1.1 billion in wireless revenue last quarter came from bogus charges and overbilling.

Citing evidence obtained by a consulting firm hired by Henricks' attorneys, the lawsuit contends that AT&T regularly overstates incoming data by 7% to 14%, and in some cases by as much as 300%.

"AT&T's billing system for iPhone and iPad data transactions is like a rigged gas pump that charges for a full gallon when it pumps only nine-tenths of a gallon into your car's tank," the complaint states.

Hendricks is seeking class-action status for his lawsuit. AT&T says they will "vigorously" defend themselves.
