English countryside inspires Gucci for baby & children collections

For Autumn/Winter 2011-12, the Gucci baby and children collections are inspired by the English countryside.

As on the occasion of last spring’s debut, there are collections for babies (from 0 to 24 months) and for children (from 2 to 8 years old) though now with a much wider choice of colours, materials and styles.

Once again the Gucci baby collection uses the classic colours of pink and blue. But the palette also finds a fresh contemporary flair in the new hues of the season: soft grey, beige, orange and green. Similarly, materials continue to focus on softness and stretch for extra agility and ease of motion: wool, cashmere, super fine merino for the knits that in Autumn/Winter collection take on particular importance along with the goose down baby buntings and all-in-one suits.

Coloured sock and tights represent another new addition. For babies there are fine gift sets (romper, hat and bib) to pair with pure wool and cashmere baby blankets. In lovely pastel shades, they have iconic Gucci teddy bear and Gucci logo details that add an unmistakable mark of distinction. Meanwhile a feel for the English countryside comes through in the mackintosh raincoats, double breasted jacket, and tartan details. Mothers can enjoy “mummy’s bags” - travel bags complete with Gucci style baby bottle holders - and wonderfully comfortable baby carriers.

Gucci's Women’s Autumn Winter 2011-2012 Collection

Floating clouds of colorful fur, elusive transparency, masculine accents, glimpses of patent leather for a lady of mystery and irony. The stylish provocation of a daring colour palette. Stoles emphasize shoulders, tight on small masculine jacket with striking lapels and on coat with military detailing and a synched waist. Subtle feminine belts are accentuated with leather trims. Flowing, ethereal dresses give way to see-through effects and tie at the neck with long scarves. The masculine side returns with extra-wide pants, in lightweight nabuk or in exclusive British mélange fabrics. And the pant-skirt becomes a signature, paired with a caban and over-the-knee boots.
